You may allow other parties to use your registered trademark if you sell, bequeath or transfer rights through a process called assignments. You also have the option to license the rights to the trademark to another party.
If you wish to transfer your trademark ownership to another party, you may do it via assignment and licensing.
- The Assignment process will require you to record the change of ownership in the Register, for which you will be required to file an application by submitting “Form CM8” with the required fee $70 per trademark.
- The applicant will be required to record his licensees as well in the Trademark Register. This can also be done by submitting the “Form CM6” and paying the $60 as the required fee.
Trademark ownership is not limited to partnerships, corporations, LLCs. Any legal person or entity can apply and own a registered trademark under the Trademarks Act Singapore.
